Chizeled Lo bars

Just snagged a used bar on eBay for a good price, look just like new. I've read that the Harley Chizeled Lo bars aren't compatible with heated grips. Can anyone tell me why or if there is a way around this? Not the biggest thing but if I could make them work I'd like to try. This is what the catalog says.

"Fits 15-later FLTRX and FLTRXS models. Does not fit 18-later FLTRXSE or models equipped with 21" Knockout Wheel Kit P/N 43300494 or 43300496. All models require separate purchase of additional components. Does not fit CVO models equipped with heated hand grips".

A lot of the times, when you see “does not fit with....” it really comes down to the fact that they may not have tried that combination of parts, so to cover their butts, they say that. Sometimes they have tried to parts and they just flat won’t work with each other.

As for you question about chiseled low bars, I can’t really think of a reason wiring heated grips wouldn’t work. You’re already going to be internally wiring them for your switches and throttle, so what’s a few extra wires going to matter.

I had the Chizeled Lo bars. Swapped them out. Put heated grips on my new bars. BUT, I see NO reason that I could not have used the same heated grips I'm using now on the Lo bars. They are just grips and wires through the left side of the bars (if purchasing the correct heated grips that plug right into the right side with no wires being run on the right side).

Thanks for the replies. I spoke with the parts manager at HD of Kingwood at length and he couldn't tell me for sure if they would work or not so I ended up just going with regular grips. Now that I've ridden with them I won't be able to get them off my bike fast enough. LOL I couldn't push them far enough forward to where they felt comfortable to me without them hitting the windshield when I turned the handlebars.

So you got the Lo bars on and now you're taking them back off?

Yes, can't make them work for me. Had to roll them back too far to keep from hitting windshield when turning handlebars at full lock. Don't like the riding position with them.
