Taller riders input

I have a 2018 FLTRU which had horrible stock bars for anyone tall. I just put on Harley Chizeled Lo bars on in hopes of being able to stretch out my arms some. They are only slightly less bad than the original stock bars. If I push them far enough forward where they're comfortable the mirrors or the hand controls hit the windshield. I pulled them back just far enough to keep the mirrors and hand controls from hitting the windshield at full lock and they're back farther than I like and the grips angle down instead of straight across. Anyone tall that doesn't like tall apes have any suggestions? I don't like leaning back against a backrest or leaning back at all. I prefer an upright or slightly forward leaning position for riding, this is what is comfortable for me.

Honestly you need a seat that is further back and down. I have a Lepera Maverick Daddy Long Legs. Currently running Harley Tallboy Bars

I sit further back and the longer pullback works.

There's some interesting handlebars posted in the classifieds. You might want to check them out.

Currently running stock FLXTRS Bars which are even lower than the FLTRU Bars, I sit further back and the longer pullback works.

I have a Mustang seat that sits you back 1 3/4" back and an inch lower. I don't want bars with more pullback, I'm wanting the opposite. I like bars with less pullback so I can straighten my arms some, more like a drag bar style, but it's hard to find something like that that will work on the road glide ultra without interference with the windshield.

I feel your pain. Also have 2018 with stock bars still on. At 64 those bars are much closer to me than I like. Decided Id give em 6 months and re-evaluate. The Harley sitting/riding position is a whole new thing for me. Good luck finding something you like.

Be very interested to hear your opinion on that seat. They look good.

Today I spent quite a bit of time sitting on FLTRXS's at the dealership .... and I hated the stock bars and forward-placement of butt on seat.

I'm 6ft 2in. I felt like i was holding a knife and fork over an airplane meal in Economy, with the stock seat and bars.

I'm not tall but I have Klockwerks Kliphangers. The thing I like about them is that the grips can be installed in two different angles and after they're installed, they can be adjusted to numerous positions. I think can work if you're 5'5" or 6'5".

I am 6’5” and have a 38inch inseam. I started with finding a seat since they can easily be swapped out and handebars will depend on seating position anyway.

Began by entering my info here Motorcycle Ergonomics so I could ‘see’ what angles my back and knees were dealing with. Then I went to the dealer and borrowed various demo seats to let the bike tell me what I wanted. After that I went shopping online.

NOTE: You can adjust handlebars, seat height and peg height by clicking “vehicle customization” once you choose your bike in the link above”

Firm to the touch, seat sits me back and the raised rear acts as a soft backrest when desired. One side note will not work with grab bars. The seat pan is made of steel and is carpeted.

The vinyl looks and feels like leather and is very thick. The seat cover is riveted to the seat pan.

Long or short rides=no butt pain, with stock suspension. I set at geared up weight plus 40lbs
