Went from factory 47 Pico style 1.5 bars which are now discontinued to Bungking risers and Luckydaves mx style bars.
Bike is completely different..better maneuverability and control. I've seen the light, and went over to the "dark side" with no regrets! My 2 cents

Apes. I'm just not a fan of T-bars on a touring bike.

I'm not real sure anything you said applies. Function of T-bars/MX bars VS Apes is Null. Form on the other hand... I can get risers and MX bars that put my hands in the same place +/- a given set of Apes. I ride long distance with my setup and scrape boards as much as I can. I chose it because its comfortable, and I like the look. But I grew up on dirt bikes so, there's that.

I vote T-Bars / MX-Bars (despite not having riden a bike with them yet), I think both apes and T-Bars look great on the Road Glide, but I really did having something different then the norm.

My Road Glide is my third motorcycle, I had an 06" Sportster Custom that I had 16" apes on since the day I picked it up. I had a 10" Street Bob that I bagged out and put a batwing on, it had 14" apes on it. I have never been a fan or comfy riding a motorcycle with low bars. The sporty was good locally, but sucked for distance. The Bob had 60K+ miles on it when I traded it in. That bike made trips to Daytona, Milwaukee, Sturgis, and Deals Gap a few times from the eastern coast. I have always loved having bars at shoulder height or just a bit over, what I have never liked about apes though is the pull back and width. With the Road Glide I am going the MX-bar path, probably 14" total rise, definitely a riser bar combo rather then a one piece. A majority of my riding is commuting, but as you can see above I also like to tour that involves both distance riding and enjoying the twisties. If I end up not liking the setup, I can always switch it up.

So I would say, it really isn't easy to answer your question, You might love apes but not be happy with what you end up with on the Glide, same could be said for T-bars. You could go with what you know or try something new. We can give what we like, but it isn't going to fulfil your needs once you are setup, twist that throttle back and hit the road.

Whatever you decide, we hope you enjoy every mile you put one the bike with the setup.

My first reaction is to say apes but it really depends on the direction you go with the rest of the bike and what theme you go with. The thing I really hate is when people go with T-bars and chop up the bezel and go at it half-a$$. If you go T-bars do it right and make it look clean. I would even say relocate the tack/speedo. If your budget is not that much and you just want to do bars then going apes would be the best looking and easiest way to make it look like it fits. Also, you will want to make sure that what ever type of bar you decide on that the hand/arm position is what you will love to ride and beng the most comfortable. just my 2 cents.....

PHP:

I vote T bars all the way. Have them on my RGS and my Dyna. LOVE the way they feel. I went with California Tbars and they're SOLID. 14". By far the best riding bars I've ever owned. I've done apes and everything in between.

Tbars bro, Tbars.

Boys-

Jax Teller was the baddest biker of all time. We all know this undeniable truth.

In 6 short years this great man whacked dozens of Myans, 9'ers, Chinese mob, Irish mob, IRA soldiers, the man who raped his mom, Skin-heads, Nazis and Ayrians. Hell, the SOB even shot his own mother. How many people can claim they shot their own mom? Dude was hard as a coffin nail.

He slept with hundreds of women (this feat alone took me 20 years). Millions more wanted his scrawny body with his awful tattoos.

And what bars did he ride with?

T-bars.
