Yea, it is expensive! But it's the Bezel that really drive the cost of the conversion up. After looking at other quality riser / T-bar setups the price point on the riser and bar is just a little above other comparative parts. I looked at West Coast T-Bar's, the new Heavy Hitters from Lucky Dave's, the MJK parts, FXR Division bars, Bung King and Spadafora over the last few months. I really wanted a setup where the bars and risers were to separate pieces for a little adjustability. While I was in California last month I went to Laidlaw HD and they had a RG with the 10" Kickback on the Raptor Plate (offset plate), the gauge bezel and the bars (all from Kraus). I sat on the bike multiple times on a few different visits. The setup felt almost perfect, the reach was great, as was the width, the only thing I didn't like was the height, it was a little low. So I broke out the calculator and started doing some geometry to figure out roughly where the bars sat on that bike, then did the same with the parts offered by Kraus. Based on my math these 12" risers and no offset plate should put the bars roughly within half an inch of the same reach and roughly 2" higher compared to the ones on that bike. The quality of the parts appears to be perfect.
My biggest concern at the moment is the cables and harness', I hope they reach. The bezel is a big factor, I can mount it, but the harness may need to be lengthened to put the gauges where I want. I hope I can get this all setup with limited expenses on extra replacement parts.
I will get pics up as soon as I am done.
