handle bar controls

Im wanting to put a cb on my 06. I have the fairing off now and I also already have a push to talk and a squelsch button on my left control. It looks to already be there and wired to my harness. Can anyone verified this for me Im a little confused as to why I would already have this control and some RG dont that dont have a CB. Thanks.

Jeb,

I have the CB/Intercom on my 06 but I donít think it came with the PTT button. I think it was added with the CB/Intercom. If you bought it used the first owner may have taken the CB module off but left the hand control before he sold it. You may be able to tell by turning your stereo on and pushing the PTT button....I would think if it cuts the stereo then it is wired in already. That is how my Ultra worked and my 06 RG.

Thanks RW
I bought the bike new in 05. I just tried what you said and it didnt cut out but I just came from the HD at look at ordering the parts that we talk about somewhere else and one of the guys there said he thought it would have to flashed in order to make it work along with the intercom. I got my book out that has the wiring diagrams and all the right wires and color are there.
Thanks

Well that will make that job easier. I forgot about the flash. Just another way to get your hard earned dollar.

How tight are you with the shop, I just had mine flashed and they only charged me $30. Normal is like $70 to $80. Taked them two minutes by hooking up a computer on the right side, done. But now you will have CB/intercom-provided that you add the cb mod and the cb antenna, just put in the JM and the antenna goes in the fairing, no exterior antenna.

Went to order parts and with my bike having the ptt and squelsch and the speaker switch ( the one next to the speed-o on the console) is really confusing everyone on what to order. Harley has a kit but it includes these items that I dont need. Ive read all the post I can find on this and Ive got everything pretty well down except for the jacks to plug the head phones into and the passengers switch. If someone could help me figure this out I will put you on my Christmas list for next year. Thanks
