Question Question about Monkey bars

Guys I want to go to the 10' Monkeys, they are awesome, but I want to see if I need to extend the clutch and brake line. I have an 09 serg and I have heard that it takes a moco computer for the ABS brakes to be reset if you extend the line. Any Help?

Almost everyone on the forum was able to use the stock lines BUT the braided lines on MY SERG would not reach. the Stealership did mine. Can't answer questions about ABS reset, sorry.

We have the same bike, so I guess I will need the shop to do the ABS thing, can't afford for them to do much else, plus I can do it myself.
Maybe we should start our own special SERG-silver bullet group? What mods have you done?

I've got the 10" Monkey Bars sitting on my bench.... Haven't had a chance to try and install them yet, but the I've heard both now. Some of the guys over on the CVO boards say you need a new clutch line, others say you have plenty of room if you re-route the line.... Guess I'll find out here shortly.

Kinda' funny, one of the largest assembly's of Silver Sergs is right here in the Shark Tank!

My dealer told me that they would have to do the brake bleed because of abs, however the rest can be completed by anyone capable you wish.

I've done the abs brake bleed on my old 08 SG bike. If you are replacing just the upper line you can get away with out a MoCo brake bleed. What I did was replace the upper line and run the line to the abs line but dont hook it up. Fill your res and squeeze the clutch until the fluid run into a plastic bag. Once you have it bleed hook it up to the abs unit. If your front brakes feel a little soft open the bleed valves on the front end. At this point you should be done and able to ride. If you feel the need you can bring it to a dealer and have them cycle the brake though their system but at least you can ride it to them. I did this but I waited until I had then do something else to my bike.
