Updating '07 lens to more modern bezel?

Hey all. I was just watching this video and wondering if anyone has any experience with this mod.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xj5hiK2xyhI

I'm thinking it would be nice to eliminate the lens and put on the black outer bezel to expose the bulbs. I've also thought about updating the bulbs, but am wondering if I can just do the outer bezel and nothing else.

The parts this guy lists total only about $60 bucks, but it doesn't look like that includes the outer black bezel which is (I think) another $30-40.

Any and all suggestions welcome! Thanks!

If you're not worried about keeping the oem headlight assm. some guys just took the fish bowl off and used the oem backing plate as is. You should be able to find an outer bezel here for a few bucks.

Ordered the outer bezel this AM from local HD for $12! I hope it's the right part. I ordered over the phone but it seemed we were on the same page.

Hopefully it fits well! The fishbowl, I feel, is the only thing that really dates the bike.

The lenses on your headlight are glass, and the concern of just swapping from the fishbowl to the bezel is the chance of a rock hitting and breaking the glass.
Yes, those bezels are that cheap. Keep your eye out for the whole headlight assembly as many of us have swapped out our original headlight assembly, to the LED Daymakers or ebay knockoffs.
That may be a route you consider as well. Check em out https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...light&_sacat=0

I changed out the headlight cover on my 08 for a headlight bezel from HD the flat black bezel was around $12 and the gloss black bezel was around $30. You can order the Gloss Black bezel from the 2009 HD CVO book. IMO the gloss black bezel looks better than the flat black. I now have the Chi Com daymaker headlights in my bike.

When I had my 09, I just put on the gloss black bezel and took the fish bowl off. I just went with the flow that a rock could break a headlight, never happened.

Hi Bruing; I did a similar modification to my "classic" 2001 model. I had the "fish-bowl" removed and replaced it with a Hell's Foundry gloss black trim. Furthermore I had the dull H4s replaced with HED-LEDs from Rivera Primo. I didn't like the look of the Daymakers and was not willing to fork out the money either!
Rivera Primo, Inc. - High-Performance Aftermarket Parts for Harley-Davidsons

I would like to mention that HogWorkz has a high quality Daymaker option (trim included), not cheap but much better than some of the ebay knock-offs.

This is my bike with the recent mods.

Thanks for all the input. Feeling pretty good about this $12 mod for the meantime. I will definitely keep my eye open for newer model stock setup, and will consider the upgrades as well!

Thanks again!
