Cam bearing tool question-

I have the motor apart for powder coating and am thinking now is the time to do my cams however I do not have the big twin cam bearing install and removal tools (the ones with the plate). I really do not want to spent upwards of $300 on tools I will use only one or twice. I already have a blind bearing puller and a bearing install set that I think will work but they are not anything like the big twin set that are available.
So my question is will my generic/automotive tools work?

I can't say if what you have will work or not, but you can get the right tool for a lot less than $300. I think I paid right around $100. Check Georges Garage, and also eBay.

You can get the new remover and installer kit from M.B.S. Manufacturing for $94.99. I've got the older versions of these tools and they work great and are USA made to boot.

I would loan you mine, but mine are for the 99 & I am thinking that they changed tooling in 2006.

I'd be happy to loan mine out. I have the tools for the evo, 99-06 TC and 07 up TC. Just cover shipping both ways and promise to return it and I'm ok with that..
