Just installed Drago 580 cams and am having a bitch of a time getting the top cover keepers installed.
I can't get them to seat in the spring loaded caps. Here is a picture of how it looks. It just sits on top of cap. Seems there is not enough space between cap and sleeve for cover keeper to slide down.
Any help would be appreciated so I can ride my bike.
Most of the pushrod covers i have dealt with do just sit on top you can pull them out with a quick jerk with a set of needle nose, now with that said i have never installed S&S pushrods, did you make sure you didnt double o-ring the heads or lifter covers.
I'm not seeing the problem. The front cover looks just fine. Make sure that you haven double o-ringed the head and also make sure that when you slide up the center portion of the pushrod tube that it slides into the o-ring correctly. I just got done installing a set of those last night and the retainer clips need a little persuasion to sit tight to the center tube, but it can be done easily by hand.
Glad to hear that it all turned out well. Now that the cam is in, tune it up and ride, ride, ride!!!
