Question Woods 555 question

10:1 or 10.5:1 compression which would be better for the Woods 555 cams I have? Thanks

After working with his cams, that Andrews grinds, since 1996, that will optimize at 10.3 cr.

The TW555 will work just fine with stock compression. Increase in compression will not hurt but it isn't required for the TW555 to work well.

I have a 10.25:1 compression pistons with my TW-555 cam. I've had it for 20,000 miles now and it still works good.

The cam is in fact advertised as a "bolt-in".
Yes, it will "bolt-in" under the OEM spring, and no fear of any valve to valve interference. Very true, but not the entire story.
That said, the intake valve closing number is such, that increased compression is IN FACT needed, for that cam to expose the power.
10.25, 10.3 cr is the number, maybe a just tick more in a lighter bike/gearing.
I know this in my sleep, as we have worked with this line of cams in many, many, builds since 1996.

Copy cam? Specs are close but not the same. Looks like the 24 and 577 hold the tourqe longer than the 555?

The Kury 24D was professionally designed and engineered, by Mike Roland, and brought to market thru Kury.
The other cam had a couple of the numbers moved a bit as not to be an exact blatant copy.
Other outfits have done the same as history clearly shows.
It is a cut-throat industry without remorse.
