Flogging Molly (how hard can a RGS take it?)

Took my new 2015 Road Glide (1500 miles) equipped with stage 1 pipe, Ohlins suspension, out with the boys yesterday. Lots of spirited mid speed shenanigans, canyon carving, and high speed straight line runs, yeah she does 110 mph no problem. I kept up with my friends on their sport bikes just fine, albeit using 2nd and 3rd a lot. I did not abuse her, but used all she offered. Just how durable are these motors? I guess I'll find out, but was wondering is anyone else out there riding these bikes hard, and do they hold up? I did changed out the oils to Redline knowing I would be wringing out every bit of this big gal. Comments, experiences, ribbing all invited :-)

I got 50k out of mine riding it the same way. Ride it until it breaks then upgrade.

I have had my bike for 16 months now and I am almost at 29,000 miles and the bike has been spot on perfect. I ride everyday here in SoCal unless it rains, LOL What's Rain Right, And once you really know your bike, you will be able to tell if something is wrong in it's early stage. Keep it maintained and the bike should be good to go. Congrats on your new sled by the way.

friend IMs me this morning. "Great ride yesterday, only way you could get more out of your bike is if you got it to arch her back" LOL!

I ride "spirited" as well. Probably more now after the stage 1

"Did not abuse her, but used all she had" LOL. Just keep riding this way until it fails, then follow "glide69" and upgrade. Let's face it, no matter what anyone says, we're going to ride our bikes the way we want. Ride hard and keep the rubber side down.

Go for it. The bike will last longer than you will. Just remember, heavy bikes eat brakes and tires in the twisties.
