Baker +1.5 oil pan

Thought I would leave a note about the Baker + 1.5 oil pan I just installed. I just got back from a good test ride (about 85 degrees) and it does lower the engine oil temp nicely. My wife and I rode a few hours today and while riding in some housing additions (looking only)in mostly 2nd gear the oil temp only reached 225. This has always been what would heat up my oil the most, just puttin' around it never reached the EITMS cutout. The installation was a bit more than I expected lying on the floor was a real pain but seems to be worth it. I'd say it dropped the oil temp about 10 degrees. A bit pricey with military discount of 10% of $700.00.

If you're happy, I'm happy for you.

That said, it's completely unnecessary.

Of the 16, 124" engines we have custom built here this year, not one had a larger oil pan, and not one has an over-heating issue.
Are those extra capacity oil pans nice...I suppose so, are they needed....no.
A good tune will tame heat very well.

The '17s aren't Twin Cams either.

Not saying being over 60 or in fact any age theory could make 'just causd that's the way you've always thought/done doesn't mean it's right'
In my teens and even now

Oil- cleans, cools and lubricates
minus figative heat loss

If heat is not removed from the volume, the volume of the heat remains

But I do run +1 oil pan on my 350 build and high flow

Want to cool off an HD engine?
Ultra Cool.
Next on the list is a Jagg 10 row, mounted on the frame leg.
