2013 fltru build question

New to this forum. I just bought a new rgu and decided to go with 254e cams, ported heads, se intake, se race tuner, and a pro pipe . What can I expect this to give me in hsp and torque. Is this an alright combination to wake this bike up from stock

Re: 2013 fltru build question

Welcome from Florida. Best thing I could tell you is to call somebody like Frank at Dragos who deals with this every day, also do a search in the engine threads to see what builds best match what you're looking for.

Welcome. Sounds like a good combo but I know nothing. I'm subscribing to see the answers you get.

Thanks for the info from Fla, Wish I was there and had the new rg. Snow here in midwest. I actually have been reading these forums after the fact of purchasing my rg and already having the build work in process. I probably have made some mistakes because of my ignorance as to what works and doesnt. The build is being done at my HD dlr. Wished I would have about this forum first as there some really sharp guys there

Welcome from north Arkansas. The 254 cam will give better higher rpm performance than the 255-which is the cam if you need more lower rpm torque for 2 up riding. But yes, that setup will wake it up well!

Thanks Arkie. I went into this blind a took the HD mechanics recomendations on what to do to the rg. I actually trust this guy and that is why I went with his plan. After reading on here I realize I could have done a few things different to get a little more bang for the buck. But I also have/had emphasis on two major things and that is. Keeping the warrentee intact and maintaining the cruiser in the bike. I didnt want to sacrifice a dependable nice cruiser for just a screamer. Trying to stay somewhere in the middle. The hd mech says I may be at 100/100 hsp-tq. Sounds a bit dreamy to me whats youre opinion on those numbers ?

Probably won't hit that number. What the rider feels is torque stop light to stop light and that is confused with a dyno test which many emphasize peak numbers. The most torque under the riding curve will satisfy most if the build does not have too much compression. That HD build won't be the best or the worst and will provide more overall torque and hp compared to stock.

Thanks, I thought those numbers might be a little inflated but it doesnt matter to me as long as it has a little zip when I need to pass the slow car only doing 40

I dont want to win any races just have a little there when it's needed. You folks on here are great and have an abundance of knowledge
