Checking cam chain tensioners

........ ran into this site that gives a great walk thru of the process needed to check the cam chain tensioners.

inpecting the face (wear surface)of the tensioners is just as important as the depth of wear.the tensioners have a habit of pitting,and the material that comes from the pits will start scoaring your pump & cam plate almost from day one.we`ve seen damage on motors with less than 15K.on 99-06 models,do yourself and pop for a gear drive of the hyd tensioner upgrade
