Twin Cam motor swaps

will a 2016 Road glide motor work as a replacement on a 2005 RG?

I don't think so. The 2016 is a 6 speed & the 2005 is a 5 speed, so things mount up differently there. Also, the frames changed in 2009 IIRC. I'm sure one could make it fit with some frame mods, but it won't bolt right in.

True the 07 and later engine is made to bolt up to the 6 speed trans, 06 and earlier engine is made to bolt up to the 5 speed trans.

are you sure that the 5-speed transmission will not fit on a 2007 crank-case ?

Yep, different interface.

The MoCo has changed that interface 3 times now, counting the M8.
