10 K service

My wife has a 2017 road glide S at the dealership I made plans to have her service done said that they sold Amsoil and would be glad to put it in surprise when I got there they did not they were trying to sell me a Harley oil product not syn 3 something else I got the hell out of there called a couple other dealerships in the area they said they do not sell anything but Harley oil products but if I was willing to bring them to your house they would gladly put it in my question is this there is a highly respected independent speed shop in my location that would use Belray Which Iím fine with since all they make his motorcycle world but if an independent touch is a Harley product while under an extended service warranty and my voiding that warranty or causing problems down the road thanks for your help ride safe

Just another way to sell a product to make money on.

On another note, this is why people should put a location in their profile. We ain't trying to find you, but it will help sometimes when trying to answer questions.

No and you win the prize for the longest run on sentence on the Forum!

I guess the voice typing is easier these days. It just sucks to stop and say period every now and then.

your post was difficult, but i think i got the gist of it.

using brand x oil, will not void your warranty. as long as it is proper spec. having someone else, even yourself, will not void your warranty. as long as you do all the proper checks and adjustments.

i've heard people say that their dealer has told them that they had to do the service to retain warranty, but i've never heard of anyone that has had a warranty claim denied because the dealer didn't do the service.

(this does not include those gimmicky 'warranty forever' deals that has that in the fine print, this is just for the factory 2 year warranty)

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.

If you are half reasonable with a wrench you can do the service yourself.

On that note...how do you display your location? I feel like I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find a setting or anything that lets me to it.

Go to tools, user cp. When this window comes up, there will be a box on the left side of the page that says your profile. Under this it says edit your details. Scroll down and there it is.
At the dealerships close to B'ham, they don't sell any other brand of oil either. (last time I went in there, anyway)

Thanks for the comments I do appreciate it and I will pay attention to talk and text in the future. I’m in Wisconsin I went to a dealer for an 830 on a Saturday morning nobody even showed up at the desk until 915 so I was upset and venting thanks for the response as usual. Ride safe
