Sorry to hear of your troubles. I'm afraid that I, too, was less than impressed with their service AND also their lack of upfront information. Let me explain. I received the engine guard and bag guards after an extraordinary wait time. They came incredibly well wrapped and are truly well made. Here are the concerns I have and what they might have done better and I have also added my own FYIs:
~ While they explain you need the full bag rails (my CVO did not come with bag guards so I ordered the complete rail system) they fail to mention that you need an alternative way of supporting the front fairing. OK, I should have known but this is my first RG and I really didn't think about it.
~ Your HD plastic wind deflectors that attach to the engine guard will no longer work
~ Your soft or hard engine guard lowers will no longer fit
~ Your highway pegs will no longer fit unless you get larger clamps
~ The bag guards have a double meat hook which looks great ...but, after 10 minutes on the back of the bike, my wife's calves were (literally) bruised. She's 5'3" and her legs could not be positioned in any other way. I was so mad thinking she was being ridiculous that I got on the back (I'm 5'10") and I had a hard time getting my legs to sit comfortably between the hooks. Be warned, your spouse of SO needs to have looooong legs (lucky you!) We have not ridden together since I put the guards on.
~ Faring support: First tried a totally hidden in the fairing support system - forget who makes it, and at a stop sign my fairing was jumping around like an old man with delirium tremors! Useless! Added Hell's Foundry hidden fairing supports which work very well and I believe they are all you need. My fairing is now truly well supported!
So the upshot of this mod mayhem is that I have ordered both the engine guard and bag guards made by BRcustomcycles (as someone in a previous post mentions). Bag guard design looks like it is build for human legs and they also have a support system for the fairing and they also sell brackets for the 1.5" engine guard. They do take 6-8 weeks to get and am still waiting for their arrival.
Consider the above to be my attempt at full disclosure because as soon as I get the BRcycles parts my BUKY parts will be on the forum. At least you will have the full picture before making a buying decision. You can see pics of my bike in a previous post.
In ending, love my Buky 12" Malos, Buky makes a lovely product but lacks in customer service and full explanations of what you have to do/buy in order to use their products. I think the design of the bag guards are more for looks than having a passenger on the back. Hope this post has not been too long-winded.
