Ebay unbranded compnents

I have been looking on Ebay for some of my stuff like tour pack racks, saddlebag trim, etc.

A lot of this stuff only lists Import under the brand. Im assuming it is a knock off that gets sold to body shops, etc.

Does anybody have any experiene with this stuff?
Part of me says beware, another part of me says that is is probably where HD purchases their components.

Also, does anybods have any experience with the Drag Specialties big bar saddle bag guards?

All knowledge appreciated.

I never saw a wild thing feel sorry for itself.--DH Lawerence

I wonder the same thing. I have been wanting to get a quick detach kit for my tourpack. The stuff looks identical to the harley stuff. And the fact much of it is made over seas makes me wonder if its off the same assembly line? I have a hard time paying more for the box things come in. I'm not saying this is a fact its just hard to ignore how similar the stuff looks. But I'm interested in everyones experience with this stuff as well?

I bought an off brand solo tour pak mounting rack from cavalry fiberglass and the fit and quality is just as good if not better than the Harley brand.

I have an HD detach on my king TP and an Ebay one on my chopped TP. Ebay one takes a little finessing to latch, otherwise they both work fine.

I have the eBay tour pack, rack, and 2-up mount and they all work just fine. I'm fairly certain the king tour pack is cut from the same mold as the HD.

Another option is if you have a good relationship with the parts manager at your local HD shop, you can ask if they have any detach racks that had any bad chrome from the factory that wasnt sent back, got mine for $50,then had it powder coated black for $30.

2012 RG Vivid Black,contrast Anarchy wheels,SE air cleaner,cobra tuner,Thunderheader ,diamond cut heads and clys,Fueling Reaper 574 cams,this is just a starting point.

I pieced together a chopped tour pack and it works well. I just have to get it painted, but in the meantime, some spray paint and clear coat serves me well. I have read different conclusions on saddlebags though.

The H-D saddle bags, tour packs, and fairings all come from Harley's own factory inn Tomahawk, Wisconsin.

Got a $130 ebay razor pack. Fiberglass, not injection mold.
Top doesnt fit quite perfect, and the Harley top seal doesnt work with it.
Not drilled for hinges, latches and locks. had to locate the holes and drill. the key lock was bitch to locate, and you have to pretty much hit it or theres a giant hole in the cover. Still had to bend the crap out of the latch to get it aligned.

130 + 138 for hinges, latches, and hardware + 70 for Vivid black rattle cans and clear + several nights of frig work putting it all together. I had a detach rack I modified for it, and I had a backrest.

Not happy with the paint, clearcoat is too soft. Strip and sand this winter maybe for 2 part bc/cc .

Had to do it again, I would look for a used Harley one. Not that far off for $$

I reject your reality, and replace it with my own..
