U-Clear HBC200

Is anybody using the U-Clear HBC200HD blue tooth communications setup? If so what are your thoughts on clarity when both communicating / listening to music at highway speeds? Also do you use the ear bud speakers with the microphone in helmet liner? If so your thoughts of the microphone cause problems with helmet fit?

So first impressions.. the Speaker/mic combo that comes with it is crap. The Pro version speakers give a much louder and clearer sound. Here are the tests..

These tests were completed with a galaxy 4 phone, at speeds from 0 - 60+ sometimes under acceleration, Also a open face helmet..

Test 1 - At my computer in my house.. loud and clear wife heard a little echo but still no issues. Talked in a normal voice with no issues being heard.

Test 2 - I stopped to get gas called the wife, again hearing me and me her no issues. Light traffic going past went as expected.

Test 3 - With her still on the phone started the bike and no issues, started out on the highway and just nailed it. background noise drowned me out and she couldn't hear me very well.. she really had to concentrate to hear me. Once at cruising speed she heard me no issues

Test 4 - Adjusted the speakers a little more forward once on the road for a bit called the wife while on the move.. About 80 mph she heard me with no problem and I heard her loud and clear. it had its moments where it was a little tough (during acceleration) but still awesome.

Test 5 - Incoming call, didn't plan this, it has a weird ringer took me a sec to remember I was wearing the speakers. Ended up being my contractor talked to him while i was riding and passing cars heard me really well. He had no idea I was riding at the time when i was talking to him.

Conclusion: I would rate it s 8 out of 10.. Works as promised.. The buttons are hard to managed the buttons and dial from the unit. Doesnt matter to me ill just use the phone to do that. Was able to answer and hangup calls with no issue. Buttons are big but small area to actually to push. Hard part is to talk normal I want to shout at higher speeds and those are the times the person on the phone had a hard time hearing me. I did find if I cupped my hand over my mouth I tend to speak normally and no issues with them hearing me.

I am going to get the upgraded version of this unit I am really amazed how well it worked with a open face helmet, with a full face shield or 3/4 I am sure it will only get better.. Still looking for other options but the price point is awesome on this unit and it works as designed.

I have used the earbuds as well with no helmet and it works great under 80..

Nice. I might have to look into these. Would be nice for those longer trips.
