Mutazu tour packs

Has anyone bought one of the bare (no paint or primer) tour paks? Just wondering how much prep work was needed in order to paint it.

Don't know much about their tourpack but I did buy the tourpack passenger backrest about 2 years ago and it has fallen apart. I e-mailed them about it and they said something like "due to the savings over the cost of the OEM product that I shouldn't expect the same service from their unit."...Guess what they are telling me is you get what you pay for.

Rob, I have their Vivid Black Chopped TP and am very happy with it.
I found a small blemish on the rear of the top lid but it's not very noticeable.
I would think that if you give them a call and speak with Gina or Patricia they would pull one out for you to make sure it's in decent shape.
Don't forget to tell them that you're a member so you get the 10% discount if you decide to go that route.
If I can be of any help let me know.

Thanks Mike. I called them and already ordered their bare king tour pack. She said that it will need some prep work which I do understand but was just wondering possibly how much it will need. She said hopefully they will get it shipped tomorrow

Keep us informed, I was looking at their tour pack too but I was just going to get the black tour pack and have it painted when I got around to it. I was actually thinking of just keeping it black because I wasn't going to use it much except on long road trips and red and black isn't that bad of a color combination. Are you getting the extras like the top luggage rack and the detachable tour pack mount???

You're welcome Rob.
When I bought mine I called PCPaiN, Jon at Horny Toad HD, and ordered the Harley Premium Hinges and the steel plate that goes on the bottom of the TP.
I also ordered the OEM Gasket and other OEM TP things.
If you go that route, just let Jon know what you're doing and he'll get you the parts you need.

I will. I just ordered it so it probably won't be here for a week or two since it's going cross country. I bought just the unpainted king base and lid. It doesn't come with any hardware at all but I already have HD hardware with matched key lock. I also aquired a used backrest pad for it too.

Watching this one. I am interested in one as well. I think the vivid black would be just fine for me as I only need it once or twice a year.

I bought one a couple years ago for my 08 street glide. it came vivid black, with the chrome rack. matches my 12 road glide vivid black pretty well now.

as stated before, hardware is crap, but does the job. i changed all the hardware over to HD parts. i notice i get a little water in it if riding in heavy rain.

not bad for $400 shipped. this was a couple years ago. bought it from ebay.
