Wrong cam tool

I finally decided to start on my cam removal today I had the gear locking tool, as well as the cam inner bearing removal/ installation tool. They are not cheap. So I get to the part where I have to pull the cam bearings and the darned tool does not work. It is not even close to fitting... Can't/ don't want to really go backwards at this point. Not too sure why it doesn't work. But the mandrel that is supposed to expand and capture the bearing for removal does not expand to capture the bearing I see no way for it to do that. The installation tool lets the bearing slip right over and keep going. There is no way it can push the new bearings in.
Prior to this issue, I used the gear tooth locker tool, It doesn't fit either.. URGGHH I am about to throw the whole damned thing over the cliff. What the hell am I missing here? Mine looks like the Jims cam removal tool. I dumped a bunch of money on tools that don't even work. Now my bike is in pieces on the shop floor, with no idea when I might be able to finish this project now This sucks big time.

The Year Makes a Difference

There two different tools depending on the year of your bike. That might be why you're having trouble. You might be in a hurry but I could loan you the right one.
