6 gallon tank

Is it possible to put a 6gal tank on a 93-07 or is there any aftermarket products that doesn't kill the bank for a tank?

I know the frame changed in 08. That's when the 6 gallon tank showed up. I wonder how much different the 07 to 08 is?

Anything is possible. Not a plug and play mod. Frame changes on 2009 forward. Mounting points changed. Probably cheaper finding a used color match tank modifying it than aftermarket. Other things to check is the top opening locking ring and electrical.
Good luck.

Anything can be done but this mod for an extra gallon requires some work. I was looking into this as well a while back when I had my 02 RK but read about this guy on a different forum that did it & how much went into it, changing seat, cutting & welding etc. Think the guys name is ultralongridesoreass .
ok was curious so I found the post & what he did basically is:

You will need to remove the old seat and tank. Cut the box beam on the top of the frame to funnel the wire harness on both sides of the new tank. I cut the plastic shroud away on the top and then split the harness in two equal shares and wrapped them with premium elec tape and wire tied them. I reinserted the box beam top, upside down and rewelded back together first. then did the wire harness. next I welded two 1 1/4 inch by 3/16 bolts to the frame to fasten the rear of the new tank. Top engine mount does not need to be relocated, but does need to drop down 1/2 inch for clearance. I did this by making a new upper horn bracket with very liitle arch and then ground down the himes joint to get the clearance I needed. cut and fit until I got the tank to fit with about 3/16 clearance from the tank to the himes joint.
you also have to change the seat as the front mount tab is different.
Hope this helps you.
