M8 2 into 1 aftermarket exhaust

OK so I know alot of riders are not changing out their entire exhaust due to voiding the warranty. However, I'm going to ask anyway has anyone put a 2 into 1 exhaust on their 2017 M8 specifically D&D Billet Cat or Bassani Road Rage? I need my machine to breathe and I know D&D's reputation on performance so I'm leaning that way. I've been waiting to see if there will be some additional choices like V&H Pro pipe but I've had the bike awhile now (6 months) and I'm tired of the excessive heat and too quite stock pipes.I already have a new breather and purchased the Dynojet powervision silver but am struggling to get input from anyone on performance and sound....please help!!! BTW if I missed threads on exhaust I'm sorry for starting another one but I'm not very good at navigating this site yet. 2017 Road Glide Special

I will also be changing out my stock 2017 exhaust for a 2 into 1 exhaust (full length, not side dump). I am waiting for more companies to offer them: specifically Dragos or Rush Racing (whom I heard makes them for Dragos). On Rushmore 103 tc engines they made good power when used with an AC and Dyno, Ceramic coated inside and out, and had a great sound.

Some HD Dealers say it will void the warranty; specifically shops that do not have a dyno. Other HD Dealers that have a dyno say that it is business as usual and changing pipes, AC, and Dyno will not void the 2 year warranty. None will put their warranty in writing that will explain either.

I'm wondering if all these aftermarket companies are waiting for the 2 years to be up so then they will spend the money on making pipes available when customers are not concerned about voiding their warranty anymore on the M8s.

FYI: Simply changing your exhaust to an aftermarket, non-EPA compliant exhaust, (or air cleaner), will NOT void any part of your warranty.

However, the kicker is that you really should retune the bike, and if you use any tuning module other than the EPA approved Screamin' Eagle Pro Street Tuner, the MoCo is mandated to deny any and all powertrain warranty claims, whether or not the use of the non-compliant tuner had anything to do with the warranty claim.

I don't know how this affects ESP coverage.

If you use the Pro Street Tuner, it does indeed have new maps, but only for Harley-Davidson parts, and the new map will be EPA compliant. So, you can put on your aftermarket exhaust, download a new map for a "Screamin' Eagle" exhaust system, and you'll be closer than you were before the remap. And, the Pro Street Tuner does allow "some" adjustments to fuel, +/- a few percent.

Might be enough to get you happy.

Interesting discussion on the topic. I would think that push comes to shove, you are stuck if the Dealer does not cover the warranty IMHO. Will Changing the Exhaust on My 2017 Harley-Davidson Void My Warranty? | The Cycle Blog

Yeah, the text in the warranty section in every Owners Manual has said the same thing for years: "Doing XXX 'may' void your warranty."

They've definitely given themselves a Catch-22 situation, but, honestly, they've rarely used it.

The future is still very much unknown, though. We shall see.

Seems as if everyone is either waiting or doing JUST slipons. I for 1 am waiting to hear feedback before I buy anything, I don't want to be the $1000 sucker!

If you did the Powervision you already voided your warranty (potentially) so you may as well go all the way. It all depends on your dealer. If you bought and installed the Powervision yourself (not from your dealer) and you go in for a motor related issue, you might get denied a claim. You can use any slipon, and only a HD M8 air cleaner, and only the HD Street Tuner, and preferrably have them install it all and dyno it. This seems to be the route most dealers are going. This is all new uncharted territory and there are a lot of different opinions. I am playing it safe, I paid good money for my bike and warranty and I will not void it. I did the Street Tuner, the HD ac and I installed Fuel Moto Slipons. Bike sounds awesome and its the coolest running Harley you can ride of the floor. It sounds good and its not a race bike. A Stage 3 Road Glide is STILL a slow motorcycle.

I went to the stealership a few weeks ago to find a 2017 Street Glide with the D&D exhaust and being a user of this exhaust on my 2011 I was impressed with its sound that I wanted that system for my bike......but because of the whole "We'll deny your warranty" issue I went inside to the service department and asked them about the exhaust. Turns out not only did they sell the exhaust they installed a big bore 117 kit with the Harley tuner ! I asked them what's the deal with this and how is he going to get warranty claims approved due to the crap with the EPA shit going on? There answer was they did it and they'll warranty it. The whole thing freaks me out and am having regrets solely on the warranty aspect in buying my 17 RGS.

Exactly why I bought the 16 2 weeks before the 17s hit the floor. My Dealership said they'd void the power train immediately and would report the modification to whoever they had to. They are covering their ass completely. It's a huge fine if they're caught.
