Kuryakyn Girder Extended Brake Pedal!!!

I just added the Kuryakyn Girder Extended Brake Pedal. I've been riding Harleys for 30 years and this is the first time I have ever felt comfortable while using the rear brake. The new pedal puts your foot in a more natural position as compared to the stock pedal. And don't think it is only for tall guys: I'm 5'8" and the difference is incredible. I highly recommend it for all riders.

A note on installation: there is no mention of this in the instructions but you will have to remove or at least loosen the engine guards to get the pedal on.

The engine guard? Seriously? I just replaced an extended foot brake today from EZ brake. No engine guard issues at all and Iím not sure how there could be a clearance problem with any brake lever.

The extended Kuryakyn brake pedal requires moving the engine guards out of the way. If you need confirmation, watch "Law Abiding Biker" install the same pedal on youtube. He stops halfway through the installation to move the bars.

Do you have lowers? I was curious how much different that version is from stock.

They do and in your color. I will post some pics. I have cloth lowers used when it cools off, my toe occaisionally touches. I know there are other options, this is all I am familier with.

So has anyone tried the stock length with the angle changed on the pedal? I think the longer one would be better overall but think if I ever did lowers they would be the soft lowers and from the sounds of it the long pedal will work with those?

If it is stupid but it works, It ain't stupid...

I bought this because I had a couple panic situations where my boot got stuck under the stock break pedal. It moves it forward and does change the angle of the break pedal action. Instead of pushing forward you are pushing more down. I got used to it and donít think about it anymore. It works well.

Sorry, I get confused by the various models and specs. I have a Ď17 RGU that has lowers/liquid coolers. Anyone know what specific brake pedal I need, and whether I will need to loosen the engine guards for that installation?

Kuryakyn Extended Brake Pedal comes with or without lowers. You gotta order the correct one. I ordered this https://www.amazon.com/Kuryakyn-9673.../dp/B01BX12CV4...
I also have a 17 RGU. once I install it I'll post as to what I think. anything gotta be better then the stock angle. This is the first bike I've owned that the brake pedal is a chore to use (and so BIG).
