Ciro Frame Mounted Adjustable Highway Peg

I had already purchased the 1 1/4 " floorboard extensions and was about to pull the trigger on the Ciro frame mounted highway pegs but was concerned about the extended bolt lengths. Sent Ciro an email (impressed - they called with a response) and said I'd need to buy longer bolts in order to mount their product. Strikes me that's a lot of stress on an extended platform. Is anyone using the Ciro's with floorboard extensions?

Thanks

I was considering these. But I have the Kuryakyn extensions that mount to the board itself. So I'm thinking it's a non issue for me. But will my extensions be in the way?

If you use grade 8 bolts I think you'll be ok. Unless you stand on your boards how much pressure are you really putting on them?

I may just use the crash bar mounts now.

i just went through this with these. i put a set on the wife's bike, she had the 1'' floorboard extensions. i had to remove them. you can't just use longer bolts. there is a spot where you would need another extension/spacer. it's hard to explain, but hang on, i'll get you a pic....

okay, here's a pic. notice the red circled area, with my extensions, it was just a cylindrical spacer that went under the front part of the mount, but nothing where it's circled. you could either add one (it would have to be just a tad different length because you can see how the surface is 'stepped') or remove the extensions. with these floorboards, my wife doesn't notice the lack of the extensions so much.

I appreciate your input and taking the time to supply the photo. I much prefer the cleaner look of the Ciro product, plus I was trying to avoid mounting to the crash bar, but I'm reluctant to modify the stock Ciro setup. Suppose I could sell the extensions (unopened) - we'll see.

Thanks again.

I appreciate the comments. I've reconsidered the extensions vs. purchasing the Ciro's vs. having crash bar mounted highway pegs...again. Took the plunge last evening and ordered the Ciros. Looking forward to trying them out.

I'll have an unopened 1 1/4" Floorboard extension kit for sale soon.

Ride safe.

Now from the looks of the mako cvo you have their you got rid of your engine guard all together ? I really do like the ciro mounts more so for my CVORGU than my 17' RGS which I have all the extensions and spacers already done to but I do like to a degree that there would be nothing in the engine guards.at all any more either. Just a little more cleaner.

QUOTE=GMONEY;4680321]Having the Ciros eliminates the need for most board extensions. High quality stuff.

Just do it.

ciro highway peg mounts

Yes, they do reduce lean angle on 2021 Roadglide Special and possibly the Streetglide Special. The clutch side is reduced more than the brake side. I have first hand experience dragging the end of the left hand (clutch side) mount and when it happens at 70+ mph it will scare you.
