Attaching T-Bags back seat bag

I bought the T-Bags TB9100DBB back seat bag. It's a pain to get the lower straps around the shock mounts, takes about 5 minutes. Is there a better way to attach the bag without buying the bag guards? I don't have a TP rack either and was planning on only using the 2 lower straps, but this is a pain!

One thing you can do is take the lower straps and run them through the rack that the TP is attached to. Then once the bag is loaded it won't go any where. I used to get creative. You can also use a couple of bungy cords to hold it in.
