Thumbs up BONUS SW4 Activity

Last week while attending Laconia Bike week, I stopped and spoke with the owner of the American Police Motorcycle Museum in Meredith, NH and he has very graciously offered us a discount during Shark Week.

Regular admission is $11.00 credit or $10.00 cash. He's giving us a 20% discount so your cost will be $8.00 cash or credit. In addition, they will offer a $5.00 discount on their T-shirts, hats, and Challenge Coins. The museum is about 1/4 mile up the hill and across the street from Laconia HD who will be hosting a luncheon for us on Tuesday of Shark Week.

To read more about the museum, and for a link to their site, just click on this link and go to Factoid #26. https://www.roadglide.org/showthread.php?t=116425

While Tuesday is obviously the most convenient day for most of us to stop and check out the museum, you may want to stop at another time that week so he has offered the discounts for that entire week - all you have to do is tell them you're with the National Road Glide Gathering.

They currently have 64 motorcycles on display on three floors, along with vintage police uniforms, period literature, and much more. They even have a few non-HD bikes that were used as police bikes, such as Indians, Moto-Guzzi, Honda and Kawasaki.

This is a family run museum that takes no federal money for it's operation - they depend strictly on admission costs to fund the place. Check it out, it will be worth your time. They are open daily from 10-6. Enjoy!

This is a cut-and-paste from the museum's website. Although the overwhelming focus is on police motorcycles, I wanted to make sure that everyone knows that they also have a few military and competition motorcyles. Check out their new additions for 2014:

"This year, we have added a 1937 Indian hill climber that is an original machine built in someone’s shop or basement back in the thirties. Using original Indian frame castings, someone of considerable skill created this machine which by all appearances is very well balanced. A matching number (frame and motor) 1939 Indian Chief ice racer and a Buell factory racer which was actually raced by the old Meredith Harley race team are also part of the competition exhibit."

A 1937 Indian hill climber race bike, and a 1939 Indian Chief ice racer! I don't care if they aren't H-D, those are a couple of very cool Ol' School racing bikes that are very rare because of the types of racing they were built for.

Hmmmmm, you've "been by it 100s of times but never stopped in". YB, I checked, and your warrants have all expired so your safe to go into any building that has the word POLICE in it's name now!
