Ckp sensor

So I went a trip a couple weeks ago and the bike starts running crappy, missing, and wanting to die at stops. Pulled codes, map sensor and ckp sensor, ended up changing map sensor and ran fine for a couple of week. Now I get a miss occasionally and ckp sensor error. So I'm gonna change crank sensor. Any idea why I'm losing sensors? Bike is 12 rgu.

Ok, changed crank sensor and went for a couple hour ride and same deal. It cut out a couple times, pulled codes and got p0374 again. I guess I will start checking plugs and wires unless I get a better suggestion. Anyone??

The crank sensor DTC seems to keep coming up and you replaced the old sensor so it would seem that the wiring may be the next place to to look.
Since the problem is intermittent the wiring is probably. the culprit, if the crank sensor went out the bike wouldn't run right if it ran at all.
The crank sensor is part of the main harness that goes directly to the bikes ECM, so there may be a short to ground somewhere in the wires, Start with the plugs at the sensor and work back to the ECM.
You could also have a bad connection at the ECM plug and if you are using a aftermarket tuner in line you may want to take that out and see if that is the problem.

Thanks, did the wiggle test no problems. checked ckp sensor plug looked good. I agree its probably in the miles of wire. Checked battery and a few plugs under seat, found harness going to fuel pump had corroded pin, cleaned but still misses. I'm going to get after it again tomorrow. Will check grounds first and go from there. What would be symptoms of bad coil? Runs fine then misses a couple beats and runs fine. Sometimes it will knock out the cruise and other times it doesn't. I so confused I've read way too much info off the web. thanks again also no aftermarket tuner,

Not saying that this is the problem but it may be worth a look.
A problem with the fuel system could possibly be the culprit, a cracked fuel line inside the fuel tank or a warped fuel filter housing can cause air to get in the fuel system and cause a miss in the engine when riding. The miss will be subtle at first and as the fuel system deteriorates the miss will get worst, the bike will kind of run like you got a bad tank of gas.
The miss can throw off the rotation of the crank sensor which can result in a false DTC.

I 'll keep that in mind, but I just got back from a 150 mile ride and ran great, no codes. Glad I got it fixed,I'd rather ride than wrench.
