How to install Black Heated GRIPS on 2017 FLTRU?

Hey does anybody know if the Black Rubber Heated Grips part #56100034 can be connected to the inner fairing. I know some people here said for FLTRU's there's not power harness plug to connect and I need the electrical connection kit that plugs in the side panel and run it up. Just trying to see if there is an easier way since I don't want to take the fuel tank off to do all this. Any pics of the wiring to plug the power to on the fairing will help. Thanks.

They can, but apparently the harness that comes with them is the issue (too short for comfort). Don’t know if wires coming out of left grip are shorter than those designed for RGU. scooterGdawg installed black rubber grips on his RGU. Said there’s a plug under right side of fairing but his was being used for something else so he tapped into the cigarette lighter with an improvised 3 way harness. Not sure if the harness that comes with the rubber grips will reach the plug under the right side of fairing without improvising.

Read his post in this thread if you wanna know how he did it.

After it’s all said and done, probably just as easy to pull the tank and run grip wires (with grips designed for FLTRU) thru plastic wiring harness tray, and hook it up to the harness you have to purchase. Apparently 17s and up you have to pin the power cable to the plug under the side cover. Installing the grips seems more time consuming than difficult. The wiring connections are what had me confused.
