Cruise control dropping out

Info like this has helped me several times here, so wanted to post this to perhaps help someone else.

Cruise starting dropping out, just self canceling. After resetting several times and paying close attention, I noticed the green neutral light coming on when this happened. Later, in the garage, I ran the internal diagnostics and the brake switches, clutch, throttle rolloff all checked ok. A little further investigation revealed a “neutral” switch on the top of the transmission casing behind the oil fill. Removing one of the wires extinguished the neutral switch, but the cruise then worked fine. It is a mechanical/electrical switch, so I removed it and tried to clean it, to no avail. Bought a new one at a local Harley dealership for about $18 and it seems to have been the neutral switch causing the dropout. Everything good now, no dealership shop charges and downtime on the bike!

Good deal! You fixed it yourself and that's great thanks for the heads up.

This. This is one reason why this forum is the best.
