Road Tech Interface Module

Just installed the Interface Module for the Road Tech 665. Sometimes when it takes the volume down on the radio I hear the command and sometimes it just takes the radio volume down but there is no command that comes through.

Ideas on what is wrong? On what to check?

Thanks,

G

Dear Ditch

Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I can definitely help you. Have you ever updated your software on your device?

Garmin releases system/operating software updates throughout the year. We would recommend running the WebUpdater program at least once every month to ensure that your device is up to date with the system software. If the WebUpdater program has not been installed on the computer please use the following link to start the download process for the program:

Your NIM might also need to be replaced by the Harley Dealership, but I would advise you to update your software first.

Let me know if you have any additional questions

Don't get me started! Had my bike in for the same repairs. Garmin & HD tech never got it correct, I think I had the bike in for a total of 5 days. Finally I broke the fairing down myself and unplugged the said part and plugged the Garmin in to the AUX. Finally got back on bike and rode it like I stole it!

I don't have the 665 but my Garmin transmits on fm so I don't have to plug it into the radio. However it has the capability to do it.
Blue tooth, mp3, radio broadcast capability.
Refurb from best buy, $155.

Not waterproof. Just a baggie and that is fixed.
will buy alot of baggies for the $845 I saved from the price of the 665.

Ditch,
You say your NIM works as it should. My question is...do you have a 1/4" jack running from the Garmin 665 to the HD radio face that runs into the AUX?
My thought was the NIM was to delete the need for an external wire to the radio face.

Nim

Does it still open the mic on the headsets when directions are being given. Makes it difficult to hear the directions.
