Primary jam nut is jammed!

I am trying to do my 10K service and can't get the jam nut to break free. It just spins the clutch pack when i start putting the pressure to it. I thought about trying to hold up the clutch pack with a screw driver or something. What do yall suggest?

i used the round part of a T-handle between the chain and the sprocket, then give it an steady pull with a breaker bar, always worked for me,but you have to be careful not to break teeth on the gear.

I know it isn't by the book, but always worked for me

Are you holding the the threaded part with an allen key?

2015 RGS 103" Denim Black, Drago's 2:1, SE Heavy Breather, SEPST, Tuned. That will do for now.

You put a socket and ratchet on it and give it rap with a hammer. (the ratchet)

remember when you tighten it back, the torque spec is not very high. somewhere between 8 - 11 ft/lbs....

I understand the concept of reality, but find it too confining for a way of life.

Just had this problem yesterday. Wouldn't break loose. Couldn't think of how I'd get it off without damaging things. 1 tap on the trigger of the impact gun took the nut completely off. Filed that 1 under things to remember.
