Fender support question

I'm getting a tour pak and I've decided to black out my fender supports while i'm at it.

Do I need a lift or is this easy to do one side at a time on the kick stand? Conceptually it looks like 3 bolts per side. Anyone been there done that? Does getting it on a lift matter much? I guess I'm asking if I'm going to need to get my hand up behind the fender. Depending on the answer I'll either do it at home or at the co-op.

Well, after looking at the parts... it's going to be way easier to deal with the captive nuts inside the fender on a lift. So there we go.
