CAM Upgrade

Gents, I have a 2017 RG and would like to upgrade the cam. Do I have to upgrade the Cam Plate and Oil Pump as well?

If I was going in there, Id put a fueling cam plate and high output oil pump for sure. Worth every penny in reliability and longevity.

Do you have to change them? No. Theres nothing wrong with the stock set up. If you're planning on buliding the motor into a beast, then maybe I'd do it.
If you want to change it out for an aftermarket or SE, go for it, but it's not necessary. I'd spend the money on some good quality lifters to go along with the cam swap instead.

If there’s any sign of scoring on the cam plate it should be replaced. If you’re keeping the stock oil pump, make sure it’s the latest part number. (They’ve changed like 4 times)
Replace the inner cam bearing with an SE one. (Cam bearing remover and installer needed)
The torque procedure on the manual is not the correct one. (A service bulletin has been out with the correct procedure)
I’m going with Feuling whenever I decide to do it.
