Panel mount USB in fairing?

Hello all. In my 98, there was a lot of room on the fairing to install a panel-mount USB (I had one just to the inside and below each speaker). Just upgraded to a 2016 and I'm having a tough time finding a spot. There's a small area between the two gauges and the radio, but the clearance is tight. I've also consider drilling into the top of a glove box cover. Anyone found a good location? If so, can you share some pictures? If you search amazon for QIDOE and Quick Charge 3.0, you should see the device I'm trying to use (too new to post the URL).

Thanks,
BigRic

It will be tough to find a good spot that still has clearance inside the fairing. The newer RGs have plastic speaker pods inside to are also part of the supporting structure for the inner and outer fairing. You want to look at mounting a USB port inside one of the gloveboxes or inside one of your saddlebags.

I haven't done it, but what about replacing the power port on the left side with something like the link below? You would probably have to enlarge the opening a bit.
