Then you still need hardware to connect the heim joint to the shifter right? Wouldn't it be easier to get one with the stud already on it like this:

I'm still running the stock linkage. It'll probably leave me stranded any day now.

front end has nut, rear threads in, hardware from ace or as this isn't anything new most good HD parts guys would have em, thinkin @ $2 hardware. Interesting that the seattle pd, ive heard have been making this since the ball and joint came out, most always the front to pop out and you wire back, drop of oil on each at oil change

I just did mine and used the ones with the built in stud on the stock shift rod. . If for no better reason, then cuz you need fewer tools to change it. it does seem to shift smoother and I can find neutral easier. Why anyone would spend upwards of a c note for the same result is beyond me.
