Finally got around to organizing my saddlebags. Yeah, I know, weird, but I don't even have OCD. I have CDO (all the letters have to be in order.) Anyway, here's what I did with part of my day off.
- Registration, etc in cheap water resistant bag velcroed to saddlebag lid
Reorganized my tool kit. Managed to fit a small air pump, plug kit, the HD multi tool, and a few other assorted fuses, and "oh sh&*" items in a small bag I bought at the big blue box.
Added a storage pocket to the left saddlebag. I originally bought this to use on my body armor last deployment, might as well use it for something. Holds a flashlight, a Gerber, and has room for a couple other small items. I used a cutting board donated by my generous wife to stiffen the back of the pouch and put a scrap piece of automotive carpet between the pouch and the saddlebag to keep the snaps on the back of the pouch from banging against the bag.
Added a first aid kit. I didn't "make" this obviously. It's a military first aid kit that I added some band-aids to. Nice and compact, and has plenty of stuff, to include a tourniquet. (hope I never need it)
Managed to fit the tool kit, first aid kit, bungee cords (yellow bag) and rain suit in the right bag. The pouch is in the left bag and leaves the rest of the left bag to carry other crap. Yeah, it's a lot of stuff, but I'm prepared for Murphy . . . . hopefully
