I have a '12 RGU. Looking to save $$ and confused about what rear guards will work or not. A lot on Ebay post that '09 and up touring guards will work. So far I know that these ( pn# 49282-09B ) will work. Is it true that only '10 and up will fit???
What's the deal with the comfort guards? Are they really better? My 12 y/o son is the one that rides on trips with me.
I like the comfort gaurd too, they look much better and from watching a buddy drop his RG they still do the intended task of protecting the bags from damage. One potential drawback, things like the water bottles won't work on them (without modification) if that factors at all into the equation. For me it didn't but just saying.
Thanks that helps. Looking to put them on for the bottles and protection of course. The boy and I are heading to the mountains next month and gonna need some water. Better stick with regular bars.
Those will work. The other model touring bikes are omitted only because they come standard with bag guards of one flavor or another.
