Patches and Pins

I don't put patches or pins on my jacket, but I had to relent and add a pin today. Daughter went to China a couple weeks ago and stopped in the Shangai HD dealer and got me a pin..Harley Davidson and Shanghai are engraved in both english and Chinese. Beleive it or not, it states it was made in China for once I don't have a problem with that since it was bought in China...I'll wear it proudly.

I have pins from over 50 dealers, almost all are made in China, I agree with you, I wish the ones from the USA were made here, it would've been funny if the China pin were made in the USA.

I don't put pins in the vest or jacket. I do have patches. Anyway, I came up with a pretty good compromise. I get pins at dealers I visit on trips or from rallies and I put them on my luggage/backpack. I find it's a cool way of reminding myself of where I've been when I'm on another trip. People see my bag and like to talk about trips and how it's something different to do with the pins we collect.

We have a 4'x6 map of the US on cork board that we display the dealer pins we have collected on. Let's us see at a glance where we have been and where we need to go next. It is also a great conversation subject when we entertain other riders.

I'm not big on pins and patches but I'd wear one like that. It would certainly be a conversation piece.

That is a great idea! Up until now, I have been collecting t-shirts. Everytime I look in my closet, I think to myself, "Damn, that's a lot of t-shirts." My wife jokes that I have more clothes hanging in the closet than she does. I always reply that they are all t-shirts though.

I wouldn't wear the pins but displaying them is a great idea! I might have to start over and start visiting dealers again. Too bad I didn't do it before though with all the dealers that have closed the last few years...
