Another extended warranty option

I purchased my bike and have most of the maintenance done at Atlanta HD. They have always taken care of me with any issues and all in all I've been very pleased with them. Jeff Eubanks, the GM, and Brian Eubanks, the Service Manager, are both top-notch people.

Sooooo, I approached Jeff about the extended service plan offered by Jim Palmer at Kutter HD (the 7 year plan including tire and wheel at $1,688). I know a lot of people have said their dealers wouldn't match it. Atlanta HD did with no hesitation. I asked the Business Manager, David Newman, if he had a problem with me posting on the forums that I did receive the reduced price. He said not at all and he welcomes any more inquiries.

Also, when I spoke with Jim Palmer to get his price a few weeks ago, he informed me that the rates are going up by 5% on July 1st. My warranty is up in August so I signed up for the 7 year (or 5 year, however you look at it) plan with tire and wheel.

Just wanted to put it out there for anybody that may be shopping for the extended service plan. Not taking anything away from Jim Palmer, he was great when I spoke with him, just figured it doesn't hurt to have options.

The phone number at Atlanta HD is (770) 944-1340 and David Newmans email is dnewman@hdatlanta.com.

Obviously I don't get any kickback for the information but if you want to tell him you read about the post by 'Andy' that's fine. In fact, David said at this price the dealership barely makes anything on it. Also, this is the plan offered by CNA National Warranty Corp. They do offer 'another' plan other than this but I wanted the 'official' Harley Warranty

The extended warranty that is sold by HD for HD bikes is accepted at all dealers. It isn't some local guy just collecting your money. The Insurance company is CNA, very well known and reputable company in my field of claims work.

Yes it is a $50.00 deductible. You can ask for a higher deductible bit its just not worth the little savings on the premium. But the good thing about the extended warranty is that they don't request the parts back on a claim. Such as a leaky area on the bike that leads to possibly removing your current cams for others........if you catch my drift.

The other nice thing about this plan is that it will cover towing, hotel/per diem expenses, and rental expenses. Granted there are limits, but if you are broke down on a road trip, then every bit helps when it comes to the unexpected. The tire and wheel is nice too! Think of it as a road hazard for the tires and the wheels. As far as I know the coverage on the wheel will only cover the price of the stock wheel, but once again, if you have damage, some help is better than no help.

Just remember. It is a "Road Hazard" coverage. It does not cover just wearing them out. I thought about that coverage too. But I go thought two rear per year. So mine are not covered. And they would get suspicious if I ran over a nail twice per year, just before the tire wore out. lol :D

True, if I remember correctly there must be a minimum of 3/32 tread left in order to file a claim. Also, they do get suspicious if the same tire gets replaced real soon. Has a buddy come in the shop and we replaced his rear. In less than 1000 miles he picked up another nail. The company sent down a rep to verify. It was covered, but he was unable to ride for a couple days

Actually Peewee the ESP will cover after market wheels that were purchased at the time of sale of the bike also. But anything purchased after that not covered only OEM wheels. Even if you get the factory wheel chromed or buy the HD chromed version of your OEM wheel they will not replace it with the same only the OEM wheel. Kinda screwy but like you said some help is better than no help.
