I just did a 5k service on my 2011 RGU rode the bike today for 190 miles temp was 78-80 and it's not all that first and sec. Gear still hear the normal trans noise, when in higher gears it's smooth and when putting N flows right in. I called redline to see if there was a breaking period and they said no it should work right away. Anyone else that is using this please give me your input. But what I'm experiencing I would not go out of my way to find it or pay the extra $4-5 to get it.

I run Redline in all 3 holes. When I went from OEM oil to Redline I noticed a different in the trans before I got out of the dealership's parking lot. It went into netural better & shifted smoother, but it clunks. I don't think anything will stop that clunk. Just my 2 cents.

I have been told by a few service guys that the clunking is a signature thing that Charley's just do. With the slack in the chain is where that sound comes from. I'm not a mechanic that's only by what I've been told.

I have used REDLINE only in my Trans on my '04 FLHRI.... noticed a difference right a way smooth for 5000 miles, clunk was still there but barely, even friends rode with and could tell.
I only have 440 miles on my ' 12 RGU- warrantty work coming this saturday,
but i will do my 4000 miles service and use redline in this TRANS also

I run redline in all three holes and I am happy with it. As a matter of fact it may have helped reduce the damage in my tranny I just discovered tonight. But that's for another post. My bike is down hard as of today.

I've been running Redline in my RK for 9 years and my Deuce for 7 years and started using it in my 2011 RGU last year. The bike that liked it the best was the 05 Deuce silky smooth, the 02 RK quieted right down and then the RGU shifted smoother, but not even close to the Deuce and not as good as the RK but a heck of alot better than Syn 3. I buy it by the case load.

just switched to Redline in all three holes today and as others have stated, I can find neutral first time, every time finally. I hurt my left thumb crashing another bike three weeks ago and it is really hard now to hang on to the clutch lever at stop lights so this was a welcome relief.
I did use Redline V-Twin tranny oil with Shockproof, not Heavy Shockproof gear oil as others use.
When riding in hot weather my engine really heats up (SE Stage 4) and dino oil wasn't any good, HD Syn marginally better, so am looking forward to seeing the temps come done. A little pricey but hell, what's $30-$40 extra PER change?

I use Redline in all 3 holes. The primary chain slap will not go away just get quieter, although I may see about adjusting the chain. Heavy Shockproof gear oil and MTL for the primary are identical to their V-twin counterparts. The only one that is different is the 20/50 the V-twin it has friction modifiers added for wet clutches but that doesn't matter on big twins if you put the right oil in each hole. I'm actually running Amsoil in the engine right now because I ran of Redline and didn't have the $$$ for another case when I did the change. So I got what was available and "my independent laboratory test" has noticed more valve train noise. I'm very happy with Redline. racecarpartswholesale.com has good prices by the case.
