Not sure where this should go, so I am putting it here for a quick response. We were installing handlebars on a friends SG yesterday. Once we had them wired, we put them back on to make sure everything was all good electrically. We had the exhaust off to get to the tranny cover so we could do the clutch cable. Well, we fired it up (with no exhaust) and got no throttle response. Is this an issue with no back pressure/O2 sensors not being hooked up or do you think we lost something in the continuity in the TBW? All the wires were rechecked and are ready to try again after we do the clutch cable and button up the exhaust.
just trying to see if anyone has any experience with this..
The bike went into limp mode because there was no reading from the 02 sensors. Go to the troubleshooting section and you can find out how the check for codes and how to clear the codes. Make sure the 02 sensors are installed before starting the bike after you clear the codes everything should be OK. Just wondering why you had to take the clutch cable off at the trans to do the handlebars couldn't the install been done without doing that?
Not a great idea to fire it up with no headers in place can ruin a valve
