Well I took the plunge about 3 weeks ago and had the extra skin removed from all the weight I have lost over the last year and a half or so. They removed 8 lbs of skin, man I didn't realize there was that much there. I am still sore and still have to be off the bike for 3 more weeks but the end result will be worth it. Missing 2 weeks of work sucked ass as well especially when I cannot do anything fun or productive with a 10 lb push pul and lift limit. I do not want to sound liek I am bragging by any means so I hope noone takes it that way, I have lost a total of 275lbs. Had no clue I felt like Sh*t before. All I can say is thank goodness this forum was here to occupy my time and help me dream of more parts for my shark.

Similar but different:

Bought 09 Road Glide Base On March 1. Road it home in the snow. Didn't feel the cold I was on such a high. Didn't ride much in March, Road a little in April. On May 5th had emergency open heart surgery. Haven't been on a bike since or been back to work.

But I have been on this web site a lot. It has really helped passed the time time. Scheduled to go back to work July 1st. Go to Doctor on Wed. expect to get a date for when I can start riding again. Actually it not the riding that is the problem it is the weight lifting to get the bike off the kick stand, or the ground if I lay it down as I have several times already.

What would you estimate the equivalent weight lift to get the bike upright from the kick stand to be in pounds.

But the point is this this web site and you people had helped keep my mind occupied during my recovery as the OP said.

Thanks.

You guys keep this crap up and you might shame me into losing a few pounds! As someone who has had a weight issue ever since I remember (do you remember wearing "Husky" sized pants in grammer school?), I applaud all of you who have the willpower and stamina to preservere to really make a difference in your life - and likely your long term health. I've been trying to find the right time to make a serious attempt. I gave up smoking 15 years ago, but eating is another whole thing.

Keep writing your weight loss success stories here - it just might inspire me or someone else to make the commitment!

Congrats to every one of you guys for losing that kinda weight. That is freakin awesome. I get the open heart thing as well. I was lucky, I had a heart attack at 42 and am damn lucky to still be here. That was thanks to a DR that didn't have a good feeling about treating my onboard ship, and called 911. Shortly after I got to the hospital, I checked out for a bit. Took three shots from the paddles to get me back to this side of the light at the end of the tunnel. (just kidding-didn't see a light). :D I was on limited duty for what was supposed to be 8 months, but deployed on the ship I had been stationed aboard in 6 months and have been chargin along ever sense.

I guess my point is LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, it will honesty tell you when it's in trouble.

You guys are awesome doin whatever you are doing to lose and maintain weight loss.

Thank you to each and every one of you, I debated on posting anything for a while but thought who better to share good news with than my Shark family. I go to the Doc tomorrow for my 3 week check up than hopefully I can at least get in the pool or something that involves being out of the house for more than a walk. 3 weeks and 1 day and I am back on the shark, plannign a long weekend trip to accelerate. Let me tell you as I read some of these post it made me smile that others have been able to achieve weight loss goals as well. If any of us help even just 1 person to get motivated to get started than that is just a bonus. The 39+ horsepower thing cracked me up along with the next post being how I got thrown off the saddle from the perfomance increase. Y'all are great!

I lost 46 pounds in about 11 months a year ago. Joined Weight Watchers. It works and you keep eating all the food you always have. It's all in portion control.

Easy huh? :)

Not really
