The only time I wish I had a batwing...

is when I need to pull the damn fairing off LOL. First time on the highway after finishing my radio install and everything has a lower volume with the Alpine so I guess I need to get back in there and bump up the gains.

How I loathe those turn signals!

Come on the turn signals aren't that bad. Get 2 Crown Royal bags (buy 2 fifths of Crown Royal if you have no bags) and put the turn signals in the bags then tie the bags to the crash bar. Take the turn signals out first when taking the outer off and put them in first when putting the fairing on. Hang fairing on hooks, lap the side tabs correctly, put in turn signals and leave loose, put in fairing screws, tighten turn signals. By the way try not to scratch the bike because you had to much Crown.

Batwing? Are you nuts? I went from an Electra glide to a Road Glide almost entirely to get away from that monster. Can you say cross wind effects? A minor problem accessing a fairing is nothing compared to being blown off the road by a cross wind.

It's just hard to not love the ease and speed of the fairing removal on a batwing. Considering I've removed and installed my fairing about 400 times I'm burned on out those damn turn signal nuts. And when the stud comes out instead of just the nut coming off it makes it that much better!

I'm thinking I'm just tired of working on everything I own with a motor. My truck is on jackstands waiting for brake parts and my mustang is on jackstands waiting on clutch parts. At least my roadie hasn't let me down yet.

I had mine off last night to install my new Alpine head unit. Call me crazy but I actually find it easier to get the fairing off, lined up, and back on than on my street glide. Idk, I guess because there's volumes of extra space inside the fairing to move the wires around.
