Just completed 10-day, 2100 mile ride to Georgia to visit family, in-laws and outlaws (high school and college). High school/college friend: "I ain't seen you in 10 to 15 years-what have you been doing?" Ans: "Ten to fifteen.....!"
Brother-in-law in Gainesville has SEVEN-count 'em-bikes in his stable (rides 'em all-my little sister doesn't even ride!) and a four-wheeler, but not a HD in the herd (sumpin' ain't right wit that boy!). Gold Wing, couple Suzuki's, couple Kawasaki's, Yamaha, and an Italian Asperilla (I think?) that he described as "faster than the word of God!" (that's how they tawk in N. Georgia.)
For return trip, hooked up with 6 friends (all on HD's,) from Dover, DE American Legion Riders riding Tail of the Dragon and a piece of Blue Ridge Parkway. (Blue Ridge Parkway is magnificently scenic 469 mi. long, joining Smokey Mountain National Park to Shenandoah National Park--here's the only catch-one rider with trailer, riding two-up, was losing oil pressure due to overheating. 45 MPH speed limit [justifiable, sorta,-wonderfully twisty road,] climbing grades, fully-loaded, doesn't seem to be the way to treat an air-cooled engine. So either leave the trailer or wife/GF [unless she rides her own bike] at home.)
Exhausted and euphoric, took full day to recover-then, where can I ride NEXT...and where can I find time/money to do it??
(Having an issue with Photobucket-maybe get some pix loaded.)
