I was reading the last Hog Magazine and they were comparing the SG to the RG. They said the typical RG owner has had five previous Harley's and rides more miles annually. So that got me thinking....
I purchased my Skunk Sept 1st 2011 and have ridden 11,300 miles plus. I am not retired, work full time, and am addicted to my motorcycle. How many miles do you ride annually? After a few days I will report back with the annual average.
Bought my 09 in late 08 and have alil over 23k miles. With having 2 jobs and a few month long winter i think my average of roughly 6k per year is pretty good.
Had my RGC 1 year. Have ridden 13k miles. wish I was retired and could ride more. I love this thing. Only put 3-4k a year on my previous Harley...Heritage Softtail Classic.
Bought the 2011 RGU Sept. 3, 2010 have 16,500 on it now. Previous Electroglide Classic was 2006 model, traded it in with 65,00 on the clock. so 81,500 in the last 6 yrs so about 13,600 per year since 2006.
I have not had my rgu a year yet... I bought her 25 nov 2011 and I have 12000 miles... so my guess would be about 25,000 a year. The RG is pretty much my daily driver.
Approximately 10-12K per year with the exception of this year. Because of a shoulder injury in November leading to surgery in May, I've only clocked 3,500 mi thus far and probably won't be able to ride until late summer early fall.
Purchased April 2011, have 8900 miles. Dont ride much to work anymore, only like 6 miles from my house. Too tempting just to keep on goin. SWII will be the longest trip its seen.
My 09 is just shy of 21K miles now. Generally ride 5-8K miles/year. Mostly determined by my frequent work travel. If I happen to be working on the road system, I take the bike. But, I frequently must hop in a plane or helicopter to get to the job site, and that puts a damper on an already too short rider season.
I've had my current scoot - an '11 FLTRU - for about 15 months and I just turned over 31k. Hardly ever ride to work, but do ride just about every day... even if it's just a quick 50-miler up to the corner store.
I am retired, and do ride year round, although temps below 30 degrees tend to make me think twice about it. I picked my bike up April of 2011, and am just shy of 32K miles. I also ride my Low Rider, but with 110k miles on him, he has retired to zipping around local.
I purchased my 2012 FLTRX on sep 14 2011 and have just under 10,000 on it. on my v-rod i averaged 10,000 a year. Im thinking 15+ a year on the shark will see how it turns out. work, weather and whatever else pops up.
Well I bought my 07 Jan 31 this year and I have logged in about 7,500 miles in 5 months which equals 18,000 per year.
My average is around 15,000 + per year. I hope to make about 23,000 this year as I have at least 1 more long road trip,(Utah) in Sept.
My Street Glide I only kept for a few months I never could get the severe shake out of it at 1800rpm so I sold it after cleaning it up for a tidy profit. Poor thing had been severly neglected by PO.
I averaged around 7-8,000 per year on my Wide Glide. I've had this bike for almost three months now and already have 4,200 miles on it (I rarely ever ride to work since I have to carry computer hardware all the time). I'll add another 3,000 the week of Sturgis (which I normally take 1 long trip per year), so at this rate I'm guessing I do a lot more riding than on the previous bike.
