Welcome to the forum from north Arkansas. Well 6K is not many miles, enough the bugs should be worked out. Adding up the cost of the mods done will way exceed the $500 difference in price, but you have a used ,one year model older bike. But to make the new one comperable would cost thousands! So I guess you should decide to buy it done or pay extra to do it yourself. Good luck!

Frodoe is definitely right just go on Cycle Trader of Chopperexchange and look at the prices. I would say you can get the same 2011 for at least $1000 to $2000 cheaper is your willing to search for it.

There are even some left over 2011 RDU's with little or no mileage on them at dealerships.

I'm always curious why they are selling. Sounds like he has spent some money on the bike. I'd also look at the mods to see if those are things you would want. Look at what the same bike is going for in the area because different part of the country prices are different. Is a color you want. Is the new one at the Dealer the color you want. Those are all things I look at.

Welcome to the Tank - You have to decide if those are the choices you'd have made, if you say no to a couple of them, you've cut the dollars away - $500 isn't much of a difference - new vs used, you may be able to save that at the dealers, having them toss in a couple of items. Think it through, bottom line it's your ride..........

+1 on the suggestions above. All those add-ons are nice but are they what you would do if you started with a blank slate new bike? Generally speaking, most money spent on mods are never recovered when you sell so the $21k sounds a bit high to me. If you like the color and options on the new bike, negotiate a bit harder. They may not come off the price more, but a successful tactic for many has been to ask for $1-2,000. in store credit to be used on parts/accessories or labor. That would get you a brand new bike and some bucks to start doing what YOU want to do to it.

New for sure...has more warranty left also...you may be able to get a 2012;for cheaper...or hunt for another pre-owned...2011 customs are floating around with mods for below 18...guy in Pittsburgh had a blue one for around 17 recently. with mode...under 5k miles...but if either of them move you...its your choicenin the end!!!...good luck!!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of FUGLY'S.
I kinda like buying new unless I see a significant dollar amount of savings. Depends on which color you really dig. saving a few bucks won't matter if everytime you see the color you really wanted you kick yourself for not getting it.

I would say JUMP ON IT you are getting around $3000 t0 $4000 in extras that you probably will WANT to buy any ways and if you are buying from a
HD dealer you will get the remainder of the factory warranty and you have the option of buying the extended warranty as well. You can buy this used bike with extras OR you can buy a new bike and put another $5000 in extras so do the math.

Welcome to the aquarium. It’s all about which bike you put the most value on. The 2011 as a lot of extras and 6k is just run mileage, are these extras what you want? Is the color OK for you? Or would you rather have the security of warranty on the newer bike? The bike you give the most Yes’s to, is the one you should buy because they are pretty close in price.
