I haven't ridden my bike in three days. Today, I caved, and took the car to work - the first time since about March, when I got my gold leaf project done. When I got in the car after work, the temp outside was 106°.

Wife and I rode up to McGregor/Marquette/Prairie Du Chien, about 80miles one-way, on the 4th, was plenty warm on eth eway up. Threw some money in the river, headed back. The bank thermometer in McGregor said 105*. Wasn't as bad going home as long as we were moving. Stopped for pizza and got home about 7:30.
The bike ran great, oil temp barely touched 230* in a couple small towns, never pinged at all even 2-up at 60mph in 6th.

Looks like next week will be as much as 15* cooler, hope it lasts through Shark Week.

I didn't ride today either, triple digits here as well and tomorrow too, but I will ride tomorrow. Today, I detailed the bike in the garage and changed my sweat soaked shirt twice before I was done and then a cool shower afterwards and this was before lunch.

I'm waiting on my RG to get out of the shop as well, but even though I have the truck as an option, I still ride one of the back up bikes. But it's only been in the 90's here in the valley. Supposed to be heating up into the triples again for next week though.

If I didn't ride in triple digits, I'd be parked from May thru October.
And save the dry heat commentary. Hot is hot.

Been in Cleveland for a week. Temperatures in mid to upper 90s with humidity around 50%. People complaining about how hot it is.... nope, not hot, just humid.

Sure wish I had my scooter with me.

I drove my truck to work today for the first time in over a month. We did a short, 60 mile round trip ride yesterday during 102 degree / 72 degree dew point weather. I wasn't bothered much by it, but momma wasn't pleased on the back. You could feel the heat coming up from the pavement. Much cooler tonight and tomorrow back on the bike again.

I used to live up north and I know how you guys don't usually get this triple digit stuff. What you are experiencing is a typical summer day down here in Arkansas. Thats why July and Aug are about as tough riding months here as Jan and Feb. And I remember what those winter months up there are like.

I live on the north side of Dallas (Denton Co) and work on the south side of Dallas. I have ridden my bike to work every day for three weeks. Going in at 0700 makes for a very pleasant ride but coming home at 1730 with the resulting rush hour traffic, not so much. But I get to use the HOV lane, plus I get to ride.

The missus and I try to get out earlier on our weekend rides though, the mid 70s bright and early make for fantastic riding.

I ride 10 hours every day for work. It rained the 4th of July and brought temps down a bit, that sure was nice.

I honestly don't know how many more summers I can do this, it's draining. My personal bike hasn't been out for 6 weeks or so, summer is my off season...

I don't mind riding in the heat, we've had too many 100+ days here in NC, I do mind the stopping part though, brutal. That's one reason I like the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Summer, hundreds of miles in the coolest place around with no traffic signals or stop signs...I think I just talked myself into a road trip in the morning.

It's been damned hot here in New England. To the point it's oppressive. I still ride when I can but plan our rides to maximize air in the face to keep as cool as possible.

Hitting the shoreline this Sunday where it should be cooler. Lobster and corona for me!

Only 97 here today. I was out riding the back up bike while the RGU is in the shop. Snapped the flipping clutch cable about 6 miles from home. Had to ride through the city streets and traffic during rush hour with no clutch cable to get home.

Shop says "Sorry, out of stock." Ordered the new cable. It won't be here until Wednesday. I'm hoping the RGU is out of the shop by then. I'm forced to drive the truck now.

I live in hot Houston and yesterday I went on a very hot ride down crowded, boring, straight, flat I-10 to Beaumont, which is about a 200 mile round trip. I had to dodge trash on the road, deal with caravans of 18 wheelers, steer clear of soccer moms in SUVs and swerving texting drivers. I sat on I-10 while traffic was stopped for a wreck. But it was a "Ride" and a helluva lot better than being in the office or sitting on the couch. Ride On Brothers!!!
