I was kinda surprised to only see one Road Glide at the HD dealership nearest me today. I mentioned to the lady behind the counter that the RGs weren't getting a whole lotta love around there. She said the the RG has been gaining in popularity and that people that really "tour" love em. :) She also mentioned a magazine article where two guys ride a EG and RG swapping out along the way and that the RG won out in the review.

What about the dealership near you, they have any for sale?

1- Would love for someone to post/link of that review
2- My 2 closest HD dealer's have maybe one or two RG's max on the floor at any given time (their loss)

1-The review was in the H.O.G. Magizine that comes out.......was maybe two months ago, I'll double chech when I get home. That article was the final push (among many others) that got me on my new '12 Roadglide over the street glide I'd been eyeing

2-From what I've seen, "most dealers" have 2-3 RGs on the floor but most have others in the back. I now know why there getting so popular, the are but for the best thing out there, and any dealer not having stock in them is just shooting them selves in the foot IMO

North Texas HD did have a couple RGs (one RGC and two RGU, but not BBP), the sales guy kept pushing the Ultra Limited. Dude, there's a big difference between the batwing and the Road Glide.

They got a BBP RGU from another dealer for me. Now they have three RGUs, black, red and blue.

I also read it and was a little surprised by the article and the way it preferred the RG. You would think anything H-D put out would do nothing but sing the praises of both. Hats off to them for being objective. I am a former EG rider and I thought the article was right on target.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I am at the dealership at least once a month for some reason or another.

About 3 weeks ago mine (a small dealership) had 3-4 on the floor which included the owners amazing RG. I was in again this week they had 1.

Wonder what happened to the others????

Last time i was at my local dealership 2 weeks ago they only had 1 rgc, 1 rgu, and 1 skunk. They say they cant keep any on the floor. Isnt it funny how the tides shift

when i bought mine, the nearest dealer had one RGU. i when to another dealership to get my custom. a couple of weeks ago i went to the local guys and they had five flavors of new roadies and two used.
i like to think that it is because they lost the sale with me, that they are changing all of their inventory. I was the catalyst.

I was at my dealer two times this week and the beginning of the week they had six and by the end all they had left was a yellow cvo rgu with to many dealer added options(43,000) but they say they can't keep them on the floor I had my hand in one that sold the guy came in looking for a street glide and he started talking to me and I told him all the reasons I bought my rg and in five minutes he was converted

........ walked into PPHD yesterday afternoon to get some Syn3 & was greeted by a line-up of black & blue X's .... right up in front

........ there were 2 cvo Ulttras there, but they didn't have one RGU on the floor

...... by the end all they had left was a yellow cvo rgu with to many dealer added options(43,000)
...... 43000 miles, or $43,000 ? ....... they'd have to install a 120R and a whole bunch of who knows what else, to get to a value of $43k
....... just for clarification, the '09 SERG's were not Ultras.
.... the prior owner may have put lowers & a TP on it, but the Silver, Yellow & Orange FLTRSE3 came formatted to preview the '10 intro of the FLTRX

......... sorta like the '05 SE Electra previewed the intro of the SG in '06.

Just out of curiosity I did a quick search on Ebay.

Today's Listing:
Touring Category 640

  • Road Glides 35 (Rechecked now 31)
  • Street Glides 97
  • Electra Glides 157
  • Road Kings 197
  • Other 154

Soft Tail: 644

And the big shocker for me was the VRSC probable the least popular HD of all had 69 for sale. My dealer rarely has one used and never a new one on the floor.

Does anyone else see a pattern. I don't think it is so much the RG sales are less but rather once they are owned they are kept!

Yep they usually have RG's for sale. The move quite a few Road Glides, they are quite popular with our Hog Chapter and in our area too.

We had a salesman that pushed the Road Glide hard for several years. He is why I got my first road glide.:D Never considered it until he made me. I knew I wanted a street glide. He convinced me otherwise, I sure am glad.

I have been in my local dealer on a Tuesday, 5 RGC on the Floor and 3 RGU then on Satruday only 1 RGC left on the floor.

My dealership tries to have one regularly but they're a slow sell for them. I bought mine and they said it had actually been there for months. Was there today and they now have two, a BBP Ultra and a Denim Custom. The BBP has been there for about 3 weeks now and the denim just came in. I'll be looking to see how long it takes them to go.......

My dealer had 3 this spring. Sold 1 and transferred the other 2. I just convinced an other buddy to upgrade from a 2010 fat boy low. Only three avaiable in the territory. He has a red ultra coming by Wensday. I love helping others spend money!:D
