The problem was that the wiring harness (throttle) was being chaffed due to the zip ties being to tight inside the fairing. After 3000mi it was enough that every time I took a hard right turn the wire grounded and went into limp mode. So if you change out your handle bars, be careful to leave enough play in the wires and not tuck all the wires up too tight.
What kind of handlebars did you put on?? I used the heritage style handlebars from HD and never had a problem. Aftermarket handlebars may stretch the stock wires to much and this could be the result.
Similar problem with routing only, I bought stainless cables with a 2" back bar. Had the dealership install it, they routed it right, but the cables chaffed the clamp on the strut. Just so happens one of the other mechanice had an RG so when I took it back for the chafe the next one was routed better.
